Enhancing & promoting a local Eastbourne Charity’s website

Charity Website Design for the Eastbourne Ashridge Circle, one of Britain’s largest and most respected lecture societies, approached me with a request to revamp their online presence. Their primary goal was to modernise their digital platform with a fresh new logo and a fully-managed website solution. A key requirement of this project was the ability to take membership payments online, streamlining the process for both new and existing members. By simplifying sign-ups and renewals, the society aimed to reduce administrative workload while ensuring a seamless experience for users.

To achieve this, I designed and developed a website that prioritised clarity, ease of use, and functionality. A straightforward yet highly effective payment system was integrated using Gravity Forms in combination with Stripe’s secure payment gateway. This allowed for effortless online membership management, providing a smooth, user-friendly experience for members of all technical abilities.

The overall aesthetic of the website was kept clean and professional, ensuring that visitors could easily navigate the site and access key information. Prominent calls to action were strategically placed to guide users towards membership sign-ups, event details, and other essential features. The result was a highly functional platform that not only looked great but also significantly enhanced user engagement and efficiency.

In addition to membership management, the website serves as an informative hub for the society’s annual programme. An in-depth overview of the upcoming season’s talks is readily available, allowing both existing and potential members to explore the diverse range of lectures on offer. This feature has been instrumental in attracting new members while keeping current ones engaged and informed about the society’s activities.
