Online store design for Wamano
I was approached to design and develop a new online store for Wamano, a brand launching a new venture focused on bringing high-quality, Japanese-influenced products exclusively to the UK market. Their curated collection features premium brands such as Munqa handcrafted jewellery, Norman Wakabayashi footwear, Scye clothing, and New York’s Postal Co., offering customers a unique blend of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design.
The overall aesthetic of the website design was carefully crafted to reflect Wamano’s brand ethos—clean, minimal, and effortlessly elegant. The design follows a monochromatic colour scheme, ensuring that the focus remains on the products themselves. By adopting a simple yet sophisticated layout, the website provides a seamless and intuitive user experience, allowing visitors to browse, explore, and shop with ease.
The online store was developed using WordPress as the core content management system, ensuring flexibility and ease of maintenance for general pages and the integrated blog. For the e-commerce functionality, I utilised WooCommerce, a leading WordPress-based shopping platform known for its reliability and scalability. This combination provided Wamano with a powerful yet user-friendly system for managing products, orders, and customer interactions.
To cater to a broad customer base and enhance accessibility, I integrated multiple payment gateway options, including PayPal, Stripe, and Klarna, allowing shoppers to choose their preferred method of payment. This not only improves the overall shopping experience but also increases conversion rates by offering convenient and trusted payment solutions.
Since its launch, the Wamano website has successfully positioned itself as a go-to destination for Japanese-inspired fashion and lifestyle products in the UK. The combination of a sleek, modern design with a robust e-commerce platform ensures that both the brand and its customers benefit from a high-quality, engaging online shopping experience.
